Dustin Chertoff is a graduate research assistant at the Institute for
Simulation and Training at the University of Central Florida. He received
his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland - College Park
in 2003 and his M.S. in Computer Science from UCF in 2005. He is currently
pursuing a Ph.D. on presence related theories in the UCF Modeling and
Simulation program. In addition to presence, Dustin has interests in virtual
locomotion, distance perception in virtual worlds, and computer graphics. He
is currently involved in two research projects at IST. One is a simulation
for visualizing damage of various building codes during hurricanes. The
other is the development of a general purpose metric calculation system for
use with IRL's DIVAARS software. Past projects include a meta-analysis data
visualization tool.
