The Interactive Realities Laboratory performs research in many areas of virtual and augmented reality.  While most fall within the area of software, we also perform some new hardware development.  All fall into three major components of interactive worlds: user-to-world interactions (dynamic environments), world-to-user interactions (multi-modal environments) and user-to-user interactions (collaborative environments).  In other words, our research goal is to make truly interactive worlds that provide more than a simple world for the user to navigate.  That world should be alterable, act upon the user, and allow users to act upon and collaborate with each other.
